Trader Joe’s Checks The Eggs!

I am such a fan eggsof people and companies that do the little things for customers.  So much so that I unilaterally created a new category on our blog called “The Little Things.”  Catchy huh?

Here’s the scoop.  I stopped at the Trader Joe’s on my way home from work this evening to pick up tortillas for taco night.  Of course I picked up several other items while I was at it; one of them being eggs.  Like most shoppers, it’s second nature to check the eggs to make sure none are broken.

I eventually made my way to the cashier to pay for my items.  I was lucky enough to be in Victoria’s line this evening.  She was extremely friendly and as she rung up my order I noticed something.  She opened my eggs and looked at them.  I asked her if she was checking to see if any were broken to which she responded “Yeah I just hate it when I get home and have broken eggs.”  I thanked her for taking the time to do that.

I have purchased many cartons of eggs in my day and that’s the first time anyone ever checked them to make sure none were broken.  We frequently experience awesome customer service at Trader Joe’s but Victoria just kicked it up a notch all with one gesture that took an extra five seconds.  The little things truly do make a huge difference and what may seem like a routine little “extra” may mean the world to your customers.
